The SMRC recloser, used with SPG-SS sectionalisers, assures fast, automatic, reliable feeder protection and service restoration.
The SMRC recloser is a 3 phase auto circuit recloser designed for pole mount or zone substation applications up to 27kV.
This is possible without central decision and control. The VIT product family coordinates autonomously to minimise distribution system SAIDI. Ring, radial or mixed network configurations are supported, without distance or switch number limits. True open conductor detection plus SEF and HIF protection combined with autonomous source and load isolation minimises bushfire and public shock hazards. The VIT family is Smart Grid ready with fast precision measurement of all variables and standard SCADA communication protocols.

Reliability
- Field Proven Vacuum Interrupters ensure long and safe operating life
- Powder coated Stainless Steel Tank: TIG welded and EPDM double sealed to ensure the recloser is maintenance free and SF6 Gas tight for life
- Horizontal Bushings: Superior insulation capability and better short circuit characteristics than vertical bushings. It is easier to pole mount the recloser as line post insulators are not necessary
- Electrical Emergency Close/Open Device allows control system override by field personnel
- Dead Line Operation Module (option) Battery powered system with low voltage closing coil solenoid to operate recloser during line outages
